Star Wars Altaya Miniatures Archives

Republic Era Ships

Below are all of the Republic and Clone Wars era ships and vehicles from the Star Wars Altaya line. So far, there are not as many in releases this era as in the Imperial Era. But, I do love what we gave received so far.

Next to each ship, I list the Altaya Issue Number for reference.

14 – AT-TE

The AT-TE is decent. Paint job is unexciting, and the large 2 legs are swinging forward and back oddly. The rest of the detail is pretty good though.

16 – Naboo N-1 Starfighter

Chrome and proportions are awesome. The canopy looks like it's about to pop off, and a lot of the chrome had scratch off as well.

20 – Eta-2 Jedi Interceptor

The Eta-2 is REALLY big, but doesn't really do much for me. I do like that R2 is facing forward unlike most models.

23 – Gungan Bongo Submarine

Another surprising release. I love the interior detail, and the fins look amazing.

26 – Delta-7 Jedi Starfighter

Pretty nice overall. The colors are great, and the weathering is just right.

28 – Trade Federation AAT

Not bad, but not great. A lot of the parts were popping out and poorly fitted. Turret did rotate slightly.

30 – ARC-170 Starfighter

I was kinda disappointed. Some detail is nice, but the main wings are too thick and look like they were cut out with a cookie cutter.

32 – Geonosian Starfighter

The Geonosian fighter is a great size, and even has a full cockpit detail. I highly recommend grabbing one.

33 – Droid Control Ship

Despite a good overall size, I felt like the detail wasn't there in some areas. The lit window decals also don't look great.

36 – AT-RT

For such a small vehicle, this one of the largest miniatures. Detail is great, and I love the paint job.

39 – Vulture Droid

The Vulture Droid looks great, but has a golden/metallic sheen, which I find strange.

42 – Hailfire Droid

So this one is nearly perfect: great detail, great paint, great size. However, the side view they used made it look like the furthest wheel was part of the closest wheel, hence why the wheels are twice as thick (oops).

44 – Naboo Royal Starship

The chrome is amazing on this one. The little spikes are metal and will impale you if not careful.

45 – General Grievous’ Starfighter

The detail is very nice on this one, but I think the color and weathering looks too rough. It has a completely matte finish.

47 – Venator Star Destroyer

They did an amazing job on this Venator. I love that the bridges are also red, which you rarely see on miniatures.

49 – Republic Cruiser

The detail is fantastic, especially the thrusters. I think the paint looks a little off, but great design overall.

51 – Republic Gunship

Well, it's pretty good. They used the physical model like Micro Galaxy did resulting in really thin missile launchers. I also dislike the overly thick laser turrets. But, the weathering and clear turrets look nice.

54 – Droid TRI-Fighter

It's big, it's well-detailed, and it's...purple? I don't know. This one doesn't thrill me.

55 – Grievous’ Wheel Bike

While I'm not huge on this vehicle, they did an amazing job. There's even the little finger control thing that looks to be glowing pink in the center.

56 – Invisible Hand

Now, they call this the Invisible Hand, but it's actually Admiral Trench's flagship (look at the markings). I love that. Truly this one looks great.

60 – HAVw A6 Juggernaut

Now, I like the Juggernaut, and the details here are very nice. But why is it purple-ish looking?

62 – Zam Wesell’s Airspeeder

Wow, this one was a surprise. You can see the whole interior, and the colors look fantastic. Well done Altaya.

65 – Persuader Tank Droid

You gotta love this one. The detail is awesome, but the paintwork is on another level. Lots of it looks like burnt metal, which is great.

68 – Anakin’s XJ-6 Airspeeder

Just like Zam's Airspeeder, this one looks great. Detail is awesome, and I really wish I had a figure to throw in it.

71 – Anakin’s Podracer

I had to do some repair work to this one, as it is very fragile. But overall, it's pretty good.

74 – Sith Infiltrator

This is pretty good, even though there are lot of models of the Sith Infiltrator. I do like the little wingtip cannons, even though they stick out too far.
