Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron Limited Releases

Everything released in the Jazwares Vault or at SDCC or other convention

Below I have mostly everything released through the Jazwares Vault or as a limited, exclusive release. Some of these came out at the SDCC conventions every year. Disney Parks released the Galaxy's Edge Falcon shortly after the first wave came out. I don't have pics of the series box sets because they are re-releases that I already photographed. However, some do feature updated paintjobs, such as the astromechs having better dome markings.

I try to keep most of these in order of release but hit CTRL-F if you have trouble finding something. I do NOT have Wal-Mart or Target exclusives here. They are in their specific Series pages.

This is from DC's Ultimate Unofficial Guide. All thanks go to him.

2022 SDCC - Holographic TIE Fighter

Features:

  • entirely molded in transparent blue
  • same features as Series 1 TIE Fighter
  • poseable TIE Pilot

Despite this being a really hard to come by SDCC exclusive, I really love it. The transparent blue makes it look like a hologram. You can even see the spring on the underside that helps you eject the TIE Pilot. Only 500 were made.

2023 SDCC - Holographic Speeder Bike

Features:

  • entirely molded in transparent blue
  • same features as Series 1 Speeder Bike
  • poseable Scout Trooper

I know, I know - I paid too much for it. And it's really small. But I do love this little thing. The packaging was really cool too I thought.

2023 SDCC - Storyboard Series

Features:

  • all feature unique storyboard stylized paint jobs
  • same features as previous releases
  • poseable Rebel Pilot, R2 Unit, A-wing Pilot, TIE Pilot

So, I was very fortunate to have an amazing friend get me these at SDCC. They are truly amazing works of art. Molded in white, each features black and grey painted details that mimic the look of storyboard concepts. The paintwork on the canopies shows highlights and shiny areas that catch the light. Lower sections feature darker shades to indicate shadows.

The figures are equally amazing with unique schemes that look like pencil drawings. I especially like the way the TIE Pilot looks with the grey uniform and white Imperial logo.

For each ship, they created a unique clear box with concept art on the back inspired by Return of the Jedi. The cardboard sleeves show additional artwork and storyboard drawings. I believe they conceived all of the artwork specifically for these releases. Once you remove them form the boxes, the ships are hard to get back into place. Yet, with a little work, you can replace them and display them however you want.

Galaxy's Edge - Millennium Falcon

Features:

  • same features as Series 1 Millennium Falcon, except with rectangular dish
  • poseable Chewbacca, Hondo Ohnaka, Vi Moradi, R5-P8

Though this was only released at the Galaxy's Edge park, what made this set great was the figures. I had a friend get one for me just to have a Hondo minifigure. Yet, all of the figures are great, especially the R5 unit with the shark tooth markings.

Vault - Battle of Hoth

Features:

  • AT-AT with snow scheme
  • Snowspeeders (Rogue Leader & Rogue Two)
  • Imperial Speeder Bikes (2)
  • 2 stands for bikes & cable for Luke
  • poseable Luke Skywalker, Dak Ralter, Zev Senesca, Kit Valent, AT-AT Driver, General Veers, Snowtroopers (2)

This the Vault Exclusive set. The vehicles are the same as previous releases but with slightly different paint jobs. Luke's Snowspeeder has the orange markings and the blast marks. For the AT-AT, they added a really dark wash and snow splotches that look like cupcake frosting. I really don't like the wash; it just looks wrong since ILM didn't apply washes anyway.

However, the figures are amazing. The helmet details are truly amazing. And I think the AT-AT Driver looks better this time around. Finally, the background they included is pretty awesome.

Vault - Battle of Endor Pack

Features:

  • AT-ST in Endor mud scheme
  • Ewok Hang Glider
  • Imperial Speeder Bikes (3, one is battle-damaged)
  • 4 stands for bikes and hang glider
  • poseable Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Ewok, AT-ST Driver, Scout Trooper

Firstly, there's nothing new in this set in terms of molds. There is a new paint job for the AT-ST and Ewok, and the paint detail is newer and better on the other figures. However, the best part of this set is the Return of the Jedi packaging, which mirrors the VHS box from the 90s. It is an amazing display piece, and the price isn't that bad.

2024 SDCC - Arcade

Features:

  • X-wing & TIE Fighter with unique paint jobs
  • Press button to turn on light

This is truly the best way to use SDCC releases, as it's something only a select few people will want. But those who have it, will love it. The UV light is really cool and does a nice job at illuminating the fighters. The pilots and R2 even have unique paint jobs. However, I've read that replacing the AAA batteries is difficult and requires some surgery. Because this was loaned to me for photos, I decided NOT to operate.

Vault - V-19 Torrent

Features:

  • rotating side wings (2)
  • rotating main wing fully folds up
  • retractable landing gear (2)
  • opening cockpit
  • poseable Clone Pilot

Now, I may be a bit biased, but this is truly an awesome piece. They captured all of the detail and movement from the Clone Wars series. I think the weathering is a bit heavy, but it's perfect beyond that. The Clone Pilot looks awesome, nuff said. For display, this one shares a similar design to the Storyboard releases from SDCC.

Features:

  • all X-wings have the same features as previous versions
  • Garven Dreis & R5-K6
  • Wedge Antilles & R2-A3
  • Biggs Darklighter & R2-F2
  • John Branon & R4 Unit
  • Luke Skywalker & R2-D2

This is truly a fantastic set of some fairly accurate Red Squadron X-wings. You get all of the correct pilots and astromechs. The pics to the left show the original filming "hero" models so you can compare the Jazwares versions. The pilots all look fantastic, with some extreme detail on the helmets. They also did great on the droids. Lastly, the backdrop is truly amazing. Well done Jazwares.

Jazwares incorrectly identifies John Branon's R4 as R4-M9. While they look they same, R4-M9 was an Imperial Droid used to search the computer on the Tantive IV after it was disabled. Strangely, John Branon's droid doesn't have a designation either in Legends or Canon.

Vault - Black Squadron

Features:

  • all TIE's have the same features as previous versions
  • the one TIE that is different is pictured

I didn't get the whole set, but I did trade a guy for the unique Black Squadron TIE that shows the inner solar panel/radiator fins and pipework. I think it's a really cool look.

Vault - TIE Silencer

Features:

  • removable rear cover
  • opening cockpit
  • poseable Kylo Ren

I was surprised by this one. The detail is truly incredible, especially the engine area and underneath the cover. It is really amazing what they did. The cockpit is pretty spacious too. Kylo is similar to other releases as far as I can tell.

Vault - Hera's B-wing

Features:

  • rotating cockpit
  • opening canopy
  • opening wings (2)
  • retractable landing gear (2)
  • poseable Hera Syndulla

While this isn't a new mold to match Quarrie's Masterpiece, I think they did a phenomenal job at the paintwork and weathering. It looks the part. There's a lot of small decal markings that look great. And the cockpit has a lot of added color including a neat teal plate in the back.

Celebration 2025 - Visions X-wing

Features:

  • opening cockpit
  • retractable landing gear (3)
  • opening s-foils
  • push-button on bottom to pop out R2 unit
  • poseable Karre & R-DUO

Despite being another X-wing, this one is pretty cool looking. It's from the Visions series and has a pale/animated style to the coloring. The underside especially is a neat powder blue/white color that is completely painted, not molded. The real highlights are the figures, especially the R-DUO figure. I doubt we'll see more of it, but I LOVE the mold. The packaging is also a hit for me. It even opens from left to right like Japanese magazines and books.

Vault - Geonosian Starfighter

Features:

  • opening cockpit
  • retractable landing gear (3)
  • rotating cannon
  • poseable Geonosian Pilot

I love the size and look of this starfighter. The detail is really amazing, especially the cockpit. The colors are excellent, and you can see a lot of hoses along the floor. Best of all, the bronze color is spot-on. There's even a little divot underneath that could fit a custom stand.

Vault - Falcon & Landspeeder

Features:

While already released, these versions feature much better paint jobs both outside and inside. The Falcon has a lot more panels painted as well as lots of little decals as seen on the ILM model. You also get a mostly full interior paintjob. The Landspeeder features lots of interior engine and thruster paintwork. However, I'm not a fan of the overly weathered black front end. Luke's Landspeeder had more chipping that weathering in the movie.

I LOVE the box art with the Death Star background (which is also transparent).

Vault - 104th "Wolfpack" AT-TE

Features:

  • same features as previous AT-TE
  • blue BARC speeder with sidecar
  • poseable Plo Koon & Phase II Clonetroopers (3)

This one looks absolutely fantastic and easily worth what I paid. The blue colors and weathering are spot on, and the decal looks great. I especially like the interior colors like the yellow "caution" striped elevator in the back. Plo Koon is great, and I LOVE that we are getting Phase II Clones. Amazing release all around.

Vault - LAAT/le

Features:

  • rotating laser cannons (2)
  • folding lower wings (2)
  • opening cockpit
  • sliding doors (2)
  • retractable landing gear
  • poseable Captain Enoch & Night Troopers (2)

While I love this design, I think it's a little too small. The detail is great, but the extra Vault paintwork seems to be in the troop compartment, which is hard to access. The tail fins are soft plastic, which can warp easily. I do love the detail in the cockpit, which holds 2 figures.

Vault - Din Djarin's N-1

Features:

  • opening hatch to store jetpack
  • opening cockpit
  • retractable landing gear (3)
  • poseable Din Djarin (with molded Grogu and removable jetpack) & R5-D4

I didn't think this was needed until I got it in hand. The paintwork is SOO much better than the previous versions. Plus, you get a new cockpit/canopy for R5, which is also painted and detailed. Then, they added the cool hatch underneath to store Din's jetpack. I really think they did amazing with this release.

Vault - Sabine's TIE

Features:

  • same features as Series 1 TIE Fighter
  • Sabine's "artistic" style (wings are mirrored)
  • poseable Sabine Wren

Now this is a fantastic Vault release, well worth the extra dosh. The details are much much more accurate. The second photo shows some of the emblems Jazwares included. Some of the colors are quite as sharp on the wings, but I still like it. Now, the figure is not as great. They use a smaller Sabine figure (from Ahsoka's Jedi Shuttle release), but the paint is pretty mediocre on it.

2026 SDCC - Concept Slave I

Features:

  • same features as Series 1 Slave I
  • concept paint job based on McQuarrie artwork
  • poster of Slave I inside box
  • poseable concept Boba Fett & concept Stormtrooper

I really love the paintjob they did on this Slave I. It has all the marks of rounder McQuarrie concept art, but with the standard Firespray design. There's a lot of interior paint as well, especially in the hold. Figures are really nice with some added emblems. Yes, this isn't for everyone, but I love it, and I'm happy to have one.

  1. How often do they release new models? Any idea when the next drop will be? How often do they do the 1 out of 3000 limited editions? Have they had any that we’re less than 3000?

    • I wish I had an answer. I’ve been surprised they released the V-19 and Silencer knowing they were coming in future waves. I think next they are due for another Light Armor or Starfighter collection.

  2. OK so if I can rant for a moment…

I was perusing the Vault website, and noticed the Geonosian Starfighter is noticeably NOT sold out.

I’m happy it’s a limited release only available from Jazwares, and I wish they had done the same with the Fanblade fighter. You see, my local Walmart (and Target) completely stopped stocking MGS because they had the Fanblade sitting on pegs for like 2 years, and just assumed “oh, this line doesn’t sell here.” My theory is that Geonosian fighter is sitting in stock because of “un-star wars” it looks. More of a Star Trek design, frankly.

Now I’m a sad panda who has to pay extortionist prices to get any MGS 🙁

    • I agree. I wish they had done the Fanblade as a Vault. They could have painted the whole interior, which is very detailed.

  3. I had first I wasn’t that interested in the Geobosian fighter, mostly for the $30 price. But now that I did get it, damn if I dont want a little fleet of them. Lol

  4. Since we got the V-19 Torrents, I hope they make a Blue Squadron limited release, similar to the Red and Black Squadron sets.
