Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron Episode I

2022 Jazwares Action Fleet-inspired line

While several of these popped up during the Series 5 and Series 6 release windows, all of the boxes had "Episode I" labeled on the side. So, I decided to give them their own page.

This is from DC's Ultimate Unofficial Guide. All thanks go to him.

Naboo Starfighter

Features:

  • retractable landing gear (3)
  • opening canopy
  • lower hatch opens for R2
  • pop-off panel shows engine underneath
  • poseable Anakin Skywalker & R2-D2

I wasn't expecting to be impressed by this one, but I was surprised with how well it's made. I love how R2 goes up into the starfighter, which is pretty genius. The chrome doesn't look very convincing, but otherwise, it's a great model.

Sith Infiltrator

Features:

  • opening wings
  • retractable landing gear (3)
  • opening rear hatch with fold-down ramp
  • opening cockpit (6 seats)
  • pop-off upper panel
  • storage for Speeder Bike
  • poseable Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn, & repainted Sith Speeder Bike

I think this is phenomenal. Jazwares did an amazing job capturing all of the detail and colors. You can even see the Stygium Crystals used for the cloaking device when you pull of the panel.

Darth Maul and Qui-Gon look excellent, and you even get a repainted bike.

Features:

  • underside dial rotates tail
  • opening canopies (3)
  • display stand included
  • poseable Obi-Wan Kenobi & Jar Jar Binks

Now, I should start off by saying this thing is WAYYY oversized at 1/42 scale compared to the 1/72 figures. However, if you ever wanted a display model of the Bongo, this is it. Everything is just neat and well-painted. Also, they added screw covers on the bottom to hide the screws. That's pretty impressive. The tail mounting yellow piece is transparent, and the tail itself looks great. Obi-Wan and Jar Jar look great despite the fact I would have preferred Qui-Gon.

Boonta Eve Classic Pack

Features:

  • each podracer has ball joints for hoses and electrical arcs
  • each has a custom clear stand
  • poseable Sebulba, Gasgano, & Dud Bolt

While there are no playable features here, I think this is one of the best multi-packs you can get. Each podracer has a ton of detail, excellent weathering, and a stand. Sebulba's looks so much better than the original release. Gasgano's podracer is really cool to see again, even after being somewhat released by Action Fleet. But the best is finally having a model of Dud Bolt's Vulptereen.

I really appreciate the accuracy and detail they put into these pods. It shows. The only downside is that the red thrusters on Gasgano's are rubber, like a primer on a lawnmower. Time will tell if they hold up. Unlike the AT-AT, you won't be flexing those rubber parts, so there shouldn't be an issue.

For figures, they look equally amazing. Gasgano's arms are together on either side, but still look pretty good. Dud Bolt looks fantastic with the warthog/platypus teeth painted. Lastly, Sebulba looks maybe a shade darker for the skin tone than the original, not by much though.

All stands are swapable and identical.

So, all in all, this is a must-have for podracer fans or people who love display pieces. It's a great set at a great price, and I really hope we get some more podracer packs. I'd love Neva Kee and Boles Roor since the Action Fleet versions never came out.
